To protect the people of NSW from the evolving COVID-19 outbreak, the NSW government has introduced restrictions to all of regional NSW, effective from 5 pm Sunday 15 August 2021, funeral restrictions will go to a maximum of 10 people attending (excluding the people conducting the service). This must be the same 10 people for all aspects of the service – ie. viewing, funeral service, memorial service, burial or gathering afterwards.
Updated guidelines from the NSW Government advise that if people are travelling into or out of an LGA of concern for a funeral or memorial service, they need to be the spouse (including de facto), parent, child or sibling of the deceased. The same applies to people travelling into Greater Sydney and also those leaving Greater Sydney to attend a funeral or memorial service in Regional NSW. Please find the full details here NSW Government website Greater Sydney funerals.
All visitors including funeral directors and mourners either outside the chapels or at burial sites are expected to wear masks and strictly observe the 1 person per 4sqm rule.
Cemeteries are not required to close. Visits should be brief. View our COVID-19 FAQs for more information
